Player Development · Monthly

Your player is ready for more — and so are we.

Small, individualized training for every player. We start with a consultation call, build a custom plan that fits your family, then get to work.

How Player Development works

Assessment-driven, not drop-in.

Every player gets a custom development plan, a coach who works with them week after week, and a private page that keeps the plan visible. It starts with a phone call.

1. A consultation first.

Before anything else, we get on the phone. A real conversation about your player, your family’s schedule, and what you’re trying to accomplish — and we tell you honestly what we see. From there we build the plan that fits. For some players that’s gym time at New Kent Parks & Rec. For others it’s a mix of at-home work and gym sessions. We figure that out together, on the call, before you ever pay for the program.

2. Custom development plan.

Based on the assessment, the coach and trainer build a plan specific to your player. Not a generic skills curriculum — a roadmap for your kid’s next 90 days. Skills, position-specific work, basketball IQ, mental game, physical foundation. The plan covers all of it.

3. Weekly execution.

You’ll have at least one in-person session each week, plus a guided weekly plan that structures your player’s training between sessions. The plan can pull from:

4. Ongoing evolution.

The plan isn’t static. As your player progresses, the focus shifts — new skills come online, the bigger picture sharpens, the bar rises. Player Development is the long game: a player who’s been with us six months looks materially different from where they started.

5. The plan lives online.

Each player gets a private page — a daily to-do list with checkpoints your kid (and you) can follow on your own time, plus the assessments we log each session. No guessing what we’re working on or how it’s going. The plan is visible, shared, and updated as your player progresses.

Who this is for

Built for players ready to level up.

If your player came up through Foundations or travel ball and is asking for more reps, more challenge, and more individual attention — this is the next step.

Player Development groups are capped at four players per coach. That ratio is the program: enough other players to compete against, few enough that your kid gets real coaching every session.

New to NKBA? Start with a phone call.

Player Development is open to families who haven’t come through Foundations or travel — we just want to learn a little about your player first. Email or call us; we’ll set up the consultation and take it from there.

FAQ

Before you enroll.

Can you train at our house, or only at the gym?

Both, depending on what fits. We start with a consultation call to understand your player’s goals and your family’s schedule, then build the plan together. Some players are all gym time at New Kent Parks & Rec. Others are a mix of at-home work and gym sessions. We figure that out together before you commit.

What does 4:1 mean?

Up to four players per coach per session. We’ll group your player with three others at a comparable level. If we can’t make a clean four-player group right away, you start in a smaller group at the same monthly rate.

What if my schedule changes?

Sessions are scheduled cooperatively with your coach. If you need to shift a day or skip a week, just let us know — we don’t pro-rate, but we’ll work with you to make up missed sessions when possible.

How do I cancel?

From your parent dashboard at app.nkba.life. Month-to-month cancels at the end of the current month. Commitment terms (3-month and 6-month) run to the end of the term, then convert to month-to-month unless you cancel.

Do commitment and sibling discounts stack?

Yes. A 6-month founding commitment with a sibling on the account gets you the $25/month commitment discount plus the $25/month sibling discount on the second player.
